San Martin Tilcajete

  San Martin Tilcajete is a town famous for its "Alebrijes", figures made with the wood of the copal tree and painted by hand. In this community "Alebrijes" are the result of family collaboration. The creativity of women is reflected in the colour, texture and beautiful shapes that give life to each fantastic piece carved by men.
